CHURCH HILL - Rilda Mae Duncan, 94, passed away Friday (April 16, 2004) at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Duncan was a native of hancock County but had spent most of her adult life in Hawkins County. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Bill" Duncan, her parents, James and Sarah Tignor Jeter, step mother, Florence Jeter and one brother, Craft Jeter.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Nellie Duncan, Surgoinsville; Clyde and Peggy Duncan, Kingsport; several grandchildren, great grand and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Jeter, Church Hill; Herman Jeter, Fall Branch; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the homes of her sons, Clyde Duncan and James Duncan.

Services will be conducted Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Elmer Cleek, the Rev. Larry Morelock and the Rev. Fred Gilreath officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Musselman, Gary Musselman, Steve Duncan, Kevin King, Jason Holt and Michael Duncan.
