OBITUARY :
VIOLET LORRAINE HAYS, 82, formerly of 128 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Reeder's Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland where she was a resident.

Born February 27, 1922 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Arthur and Mary Alberta Bowers Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Waldon Lee Hays on March 26, 1997.

She was involved with the PTA at Antietam Street Elementary School and Bester Elementary.

She was a 68 year member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, where she taught Sunday School.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Row, and husband, Linwood P. Row, Jr., of Sykesville, Maryland, and Christine King, and husband, William D. King, Jr., of Hagerstown; one brother, Paul R. Andrews of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Christian Row, and Michael Row of Sykesville, Maryland, Jeanine King, and Jennifer King of Hagerstown, and Patrick Younkins of Keedysville, Maryland; and son-in-law, Michael A. Younkins of Keedysville, Maryland.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Younkins; one sister, Helen I. Miller; and four brothers, Frederick E. Andrews, George W. Andrews, Harry L. Andrews, and Charles F. Andrews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Sunday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Rest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
