BOBBIE WOMACK TOLAND

Funeral services for Bobbie W. Toland 77, will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, with her pastor, Leland Crawford officiating. She will be laid to rest in Thomas Wren Cemetery in Martin, Louisiana. Visitation will be today (Wednesday January 25, 2012) from 5 until 8 p.m.

Bobbie was born July 11, 1934 in Smackover, Arkansas and passed away on January 23, 2012 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She moved to Minden in 1948 and lived here for the rest of her life. She worked for more than 30 years in the Webster Parish School System. First as a teacher at Minden High School and then as a Guidance Counselor at Doyline High School. She loved her students and her co-workers. She was especially fond of her principal at Doyline High School, Jimmy Stewart.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Alda Womack. She is survived by her two sons, Joe Toland and wife Terri of Heflin and Mike Toland and wife Lisa of Minden; six grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant of Vancouver, Washington, Samantha Toland and husband Tim Morgan, Timothy Johnson, Scott Toland, Chris Toland and Chase Toland, all of Minden; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Franklin and husband Lee both of Shreveport; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Wynn of Minden.

After retiring, Bobbie spent most of her time taking care of her grandchildren and volunteering at UCAP. Her family wants her to be remembered as a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Minden.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all her doctors and nurses that cared for her during her illness. They would also, like to give thanks to all of her friends and church family that prayed for her during her final days.
