Grace Lilley Askew, 98, of the 100 block of Turner Road, died Aug. 5, 2003 in Down East Health and Rehab, Gatesville.
Mrs. Askew was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late James Henry and Ima Bracey Lilley. A homemaker, she was a member of Eure Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Askew; her sons, Elliott Askew and Tommy Askew; and two grandchildren, Linda Askew and Kelly Ray Askew.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Alva and J.Z. Felton of Gates, Yvonne and Lowell Howell of Eure and Betty and Jimmie Duell of Battery Park, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Bertha Askew and Carolyn Askew, both of Eure; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Eure Christian Church by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the home of Yvonne and Lowell Howell, 36 White Oak Road, Eure. Memorial donations may be made to Eure Christian Church, 872 NC Hwy. 137, Eure, NC 27935. Edition: FINAL
