Robert L. Jenkins, 83, of Luray, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.

He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1928, in Luray to Charles Franklin Jenkins and Viola Virginia (Alger) Jenkins, who preceded him in death.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force as master sergeant.

On May 8, 1954, he married L. Maxine Rothgeb, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Cindy and husband, Kenny Miller, of Rileyville, Patty and husband, Rick Thomas, of Luray, and Kathy Jenkins and Kurt Harold of Luray; grandson, Ryan Thomas of Luray; granddaughters, Pam and Robin Miller of Rileyville; and sisters, Lorene Wilson and Martha Fox, both of Luray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Jenkins, and sisters Flossie J., Ada Moyer and Pearl Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the Bradley Funeral Home, 187 E. Main St., Luray.

Burial will be at Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray. Memorials can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 W. Cork St., Fourth Floor Winchester, VA 22601.

Services performed under the direction of the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
