dance at Sunday School
FUNERAL RITES HELD TODAY
Henry M. Crandall, 99 years old,
died last night at the home of his
grand niece, Mrs. Mathew M. William-
son, 1551 Quarrter street.
Mr. Crandall was born in New York
state July 26, 1824, and had he lived
until next July would have reached
his hundredth year. He resided in
Stillwater, Minn., until 1905, when his
wife [died]. He then came to Charles-
town to live with Mrs. Williamson.
Mr. Crandall was known to many in
the city as "Uncle" Henry and was
one of the most faithful members of
the Kanawha Presbyterian Sunday
school, and until year ago, when his
increasing old age forced him to stay
home. "Uncle" Henry had a perfect
record for attendance. He had been a
member of the Presbyterian church
nearly all his life.
Mr. Crandall was sprightly and ac-
tivein appearance for a man of his
age, and had many friends, both young
and old in the city. Mrs. Williamson is
his nearest living relative. She is the
wife of Mathew Williamson, vice pres-
sident of the Citizen's National bank

Funeral services were held at the
house at 11 o'clock this morning. Rev.
Albert Evans officiating. The body
was laid to rest in Spring hill ceme-
tery.
