Donalds Obituary
Doanld B. Clark, 79, of Carey, left this earth Wednesday, Aug 22, 2007, to join his mother and father, along with two brothers, Edward Clark and Jack Clark, and two sisters, Dorthy Branch and Barbara Ellen Clark. Don was a very caring and noble man.
He was born March 23, 1928, to the late Lewis Marion and Susan Ellen (Bartram) Clark. October 8, 1949 he married Clarabelle (Newland) Clark and she survives.
Other survivors include: his children, Linda L. (Kenny) Hewitt of Sycamore, David D. (Virginia) Clark of Sycamore, Charles B. (Sally) Clark of McCutchenville and Edward L. (Theresa) Clark of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Steven D. (Paula) Halm of Pikeville, KY., Kristie M. (Cris) Theis of Tiffin, Jennifer J. (Matthew) Lenhart of Chandler, Ariz., Brian E. (Colleen) Halm of Tiffin, Kimberly K. (Neil) Clark-Orewiler of Sycamore, Charlene E. Clark of McCutchenville, Tiffany D. Clark of Muldraugh, KY., and Jessica E. Clark of Sycamore; nine great-grandchildren, Kristina, Ethan and Avery Halm, Kendra Lykins, Isaac Orewiler, Brooke, Grant and Alex Theis and Zoe Halm; three brothers, Lewis Clark Jr. of New Mexico, Larry Clark of Delaware, Ohio, and Willard (Wanda) Clark of Upper Sandusky; and a sister, Shirley (Neil) Sayre of Upper Sandusky.
Donald attended Morral High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. During his sevice, he participated in the Adm. Richard Byrd expedition on the USS Pine Island to the South Pole in 1948. He witnessed a nuclear test while in the South Pacific. He worked at National Machinery in Tiffin for 39 years, where he retired in 1991.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville and the Quarter Century Club of National Machinery. He loved to farm and talk about tractors, as he enjoyed his whole life with a smile and a joke. He loved to watch and listen to his grandchildren. He leaves memorable stories of his childhood and lifetime experiences with all his family and friends. Don, sadly will be missed.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Roy Howell officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetary in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville or Bridge Home Health and Hospice in findlay.
