Elsie Christine Watson Atkins, 91, Clarksville, TN, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Montgomery Care and Rehab. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Louder officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Atkins was born in Montgomery County, TN, July 10, 1917 son of the late Steven John and Gracia Erleen Sleigh Watson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Atkins; sister, Louise Johnson; brothers, Paul, John and Franklin Watson and grandson, Matthew Dwayne Atkins. She attended Sunnyview Baptist Church. Mrs. Atkins is survived by her sons, James Wesley Atkins and wife Olean Johnson Atkins, Glenn Henry Atkins and wife Margaret Ann Lynch Atkins and William Dean Atkins; daughters, Earleen Atkins Smith and Elsie Atkins Marklin and husband Dudley Marklin; brother, Steve Watson; sisters, Annie Doris Armstrong, Shirley Darnell, Peggy Dufrene and Nancy Jackson; grandchildren, Mark Atkins, Donna Brown, Chris Atkins, Joey Glenn Atkins, Ronda Hester, Van Smith, Mike Smith, Debra Harrison, Clif Marklin, Lindsay Atkins and Steven Atkins; great-grandchildren, Kelly Street, Nicole Brunson, Taylor Atkins, Johnny Atkins, Jessica Strutts, Jennifer Bowling, Jordan Hester, Amanda Smith, Lauren Smith, Rebecca Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, Joshua Marklin and Ashley Marklin; great-great-grandchildren, Griffin Stutts, Jonathan Atkins and Shelby Atkins.
