Olympia Apodaca, age 88, passed away in Amarillo, Texas on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
Olympia was born March 26, 1923, in Vaughn, New Mexico to Modesto and Guillerma Lucero. She had been a long time Tucumcari, New Mexico resident. She was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Surviving her are her children, Antonio Apodaca Jr., Manuel Apodaca, Juan Apodaca all of Tucumcari, New Mexico, Bobby Apodaca of Amarillo, Texas, Josephine Aragon of Amarillo, Texas, Gloria Salas, Mary Otero, Donna Apodaca and Barbara Apodaca all of Tucumcari, New Mexico; two sisters, Mary Orosco and Melda Otero, along with many grand and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Apodaca Sr.; by her daughter, Lydia Martinez and by a son, Felix Apodaca.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening, January 8, 2012, in the St. Anne's Catholic Church beginning at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Monday morning, December 9, 2012, beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Father Hyginus Anuta as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Dunn Funeral Home in Tucumcari, New Mexico, 575 461-3815.
