Emma L. (Woodring) Beatty was called home to her Lord on December 29, 2011. She was born on December 18, 1924 to Leonard and Julia (Wilson) Woodring at their farm near Manchester, OK.

She graduated with the class of 1942 from the Manchester High School, after which she moved to Wichita, KS to teach shorthand at the Wichita Business College. While in Wichita, she met Ira Beatty and they were married July 14, 1946. To this union were born three children who survive her: Ronald Beatty of Wakita, OK; Nancy (John) Stowers of Rose Hill, KS; and Dianna (Fred) Clapp of Wichita. Six grandchildren: John (Belinda) Stowers of Graham, WA; Jim Stowers, David (Leann) Stowers, Michael Poland, Melissa (K.C.) Steiner, Eddie (Erin) Clapp, all of Wichita, KS; fourteen great grandchildren: Bryanna, Austin, Justin, Brandon, Reyann, Devin, Hunter, Caleb, Lily, Cassidy, Bradley, Mason, Emmett, and Baby Steiner; four great-great grandchildren: Marley, Mia, Dezmen and Drake; one sister: Bessie Gideon, also of Wichita. Emma also had many nieces, nephews and a multitude cousins and friends who loved her very much.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ira on July 20, 1978; three brothers: Leonard Merle, Leroy, and Raymond Woodring; one sister, Thelma Hendrick, and one great granddaughter: Danielle Stowers.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the United Methodist Church at Wakita with Rev. Susan Grove officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Wakita.

Memorials may be given to the Church in her memory.
