Patricia Mahler Black, 90, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Good Samaritan Home in Evansville, Indiana.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she had served as Treasurer, Vestry Member, and Altar Guild Chair Person. An avid gardener, Pat was a member of the Garden Club of Henderson, where she served in many capacities including President. She also served as a docent at Audubon Museum and as a tour guide for riverboat visitors. Pat was an active Republican and served for six years as vice chairman of the county party. Additionally, she served for ten years on the County Board of Elections. She also served on the city Civil Service Commission and the board of Henderson Housing Authority.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Frederick and Mildren Mae Brown Mahler; and one brother, Charles Jacob Mahler.
Survivors include her son, Steven Black of Needville, Texas; her sister, Barbara Butler of Henderson, Kentucky; her brother, John Mahler of Warner Robins, Georgia; eight nieces and nephews, including Rebecca Reaves and her husband, Fred, of Hazel, Kentucky, and Larry Shiver and his wife, Christa, of Henderson, Kentucky.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fernwood Cemetery. Father Richard Martindale will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.
