He worked as a carpenter with his father building homes. At age 15 he enlisted in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate, went through two invasions at the age of 16, and the invasion of France at age 17. He lost sight in his right eye, and received a medical discharge from the Navy. He shrimped out of Florida and Aransas Pass, TX for many years.
He married Marian Allen in 1975, and moved to Markham. He worked as a carpenter at the Nuclear Plant until 1980, when he was injured on the job. He helped his wife open The Shrimp House in Bay City and operated it for eight years.
Mr. Adams is survived by his loving wife of 32 years: Marian Allen Adams of Markham; sons: Edward Adams, Jr. of McCall ID, Dr. Wayne Adams & wife Johnny of Birmingham AL, Danny Adams, Don Adams & wife Kitty, Ronnie Adams, Melvin Adams & daughter Linda all of Florida; step-son: Robert Allen & wife Sandy of Aransas Pass TX; brother: Ronnie & Ben Adams of Valrico FL; sisters: Betty, Frances, and Gerldine all of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ellis Adams.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
