Carrie Smith was actually married 3 times. Her first husband was Clarence Brough, married Oct. 7, 1906 in Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa. Clarence died in 1907. He is buried in the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. They had a child together named Madeline Brough. She then married Orvale D. Lyon on April 13, 1909 in Davenport, Scott, Iowa. She apparently remarried after Orvale died in 1942 to a man named Dayton.

Mrs. Carrie Lyon Dayton, 84, formerly of Waterloo; and recently of Nevada, died Saturday morning at the Oak Park Nursing Home in Nevada of complications following a stroke. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Memories West with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
She was bom Dec. 6, 1889, at Ottumwa, the daughter of Charles and Minnie MacFarling Smith; She married Clarence Brough in September, 1906, in Ottumwa. He later died. She married Orvalle Lyon in April of 1909 in Davenport and he preceded her in death. She then married William Dayton on April 16,1948, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death in 1957. She was employed by the Rath Packing Company until moving to Nevada in 1948.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Violet Stone of Fort Worth, Tex.; a son, Neven R. Lyon of Seattle, Wash.; and.two sisters, Mrs. Grace McCombs of Parkview Gardens Care Center and Mrs. Delbert Foster of Austin, Minn.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Monday until time of services.
