Ballet Dancer. Prehaps the most important Danish ballerina of the first half of the 20th century. She studied at the Royal Danish Ballet School from 1917 and went on to join the company in 1928 becoming a principal in 1933 and a prima ballerina in 1942, the first to be given that title in Denmark. Although not an outstanding virtuoso she had amazing grace and personality. She created many roles in Harald Lander's ballets and was married to him from 1932 to 1950. She also danced many works from the Bournonville repertory. She was much admired in 'Coppelia' and in 'Swan Lake'. She retired in 1950 and died eleven years later.
