Pvt. U.S. Army, World War One-Pvt. Canterbury died from the effects of the Spanish Flu on 10-16-1918 while serving with Co. B of the 124th Infantry Regiment, 31st Infantry Division.

His brother-in-law, Pvt. Edward Harms, also at Camp Mills, escorted the body home to Peoria.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.F. Canterbury of 106 Barker Avenue in West Peoria, Illinois, and he attended Manual Training H.S.

Awards: Good Conduct Medal, WWI Victory Medal.
