Loved dogs, bowling
Donald Lee Heagy Sr., 80, of Delmont died Feb. 28, 2006, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born Oct. 6, 1925, the son of Robert and Margaret (Reiher) Heagy.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Heagy was employed in maintenance at the University of Pittsburgh and had also worked at E.L. Wiegand Co. in Homewood. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Delmont, and especially enjoyed playing with his dogs and bowling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Nima (Kaufman) Heagy; children, Donald Heagy Jr. and his wife, Dianne Barnard, of Greensburg, Beth Moser and her husband, Oakley, of Sarver, the Rev. Douglas Heagy and his wife, Barbara Bashore, of Jefferson Hills and Mark Heagy and his wife, Janet Sokolowski, of Prince Frederick, Md.; brother, Robert Heagy of Verona; sister, Virginia Heagy of Penn Hills; and eight grandchildren.
Friends were received at Bash-Nied Funeral Home. A service was held in Salem Lutheran Church. Interment followed at Twin Valley Memorial Park.
