My Dad tells me Cousin Charlie Allen could be recognized by this beautiful smile no matter how he changed thru the years. What a handsome fellow he was.

His obituary was published in "The Shelby Star"

"Charlie Parker - Ellenboro - Mr. Charlie Allen Parker, 78, of 242 N. Glenn St., died Tuesday, August 22, 2000, at Autumn Care of Forest City.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Rose Tessenear Parker. He was a retired textile worker and an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survivied by his wife, Pearl Pleasant Parker of the home; three sons, Paul Parker of Spindale, Ivy Parker of Mooresboro and Jessie Parker; two brothers, Bynum Parker of Caroleen and E. W. Parker of Shelby; one sister, Lillian Cornwell of Lake Norman; and one grandchild.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p. m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home with with the Rev. J.M. zell officiating. Burial will follow at Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home or at the home of Ellen Philbeck, Harmon Road, Ellenboro.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford Ccounty, Box 336, Forest City, N. C. 28043."
