Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - February 23, 2004Deceased Name: Roy Miller 2/23/04Born Sept. 17, 1914, in Burlington, he was the son of Louis Arthur and Charlotta Henrietta Mohr Miller. On Aug. 11, 1939, he married Frances Cox in Burlington. She died Nov. 27, 1989. On Nov. 17, 1990, he married Bernice Thye in Burlington.Mr. Miller operated Miller's Dry Cleaners for 10 years. He worked in real estate and farming. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kiwanis, Keenagers and Golden Oldies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, vegetable and flower gardening and working around his home.Survivors include his wife; one daughter, June Morrison of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Harold Miller of Long Beach, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington.The funeral for Mr. Miller will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating.
