N. Ruth Brown, 96, Indianapolis formerly Nashville, IN passed away December 7, 2011. She was born October 18, 1915 in Indianapolis to the late Walter A. and Annettie Moore Shinn. Ruth married Melvin Brown on June 16, 1933 in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death March 18, 1986. She was employed at Bearcraft and retired as a seamstress. She was an Arsnel Technical High School graduate and was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Morgantown. Her survivors are daughter Karen Green of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by daughters Sandra Quick and Barbara Anna Brown; brother Robert Shinn and sisters Frances Williams and Louise Clark. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 10 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 9 at the mortuary. Burial in Sutherland Park Cemetery.
