Armando Agabiti, 82, who founded the Agabiti Bros. Construction Company in 1913 with his late brother Olimpio, died Monday in St. Francis Hospital. He lived at 1749 Arena Drive.
A native of Italy, he came to this country in 1903 and went to work in Roebling. He was a founder of the Agabiti A.A., Christopher Columbus Lodge and the Italian American Sportsmen's Club. He was a member of Trenton Lodge of Elks and an honorary member of the College Sportsmen Club.
Husband of the late Catherine Giglio Agabiti, he is survived by a son, Ottavio, a daughter, Mrs. Florence Lucidi, with whom he lived; two brothers, John and William Giori; three sisters, Mrs. Dominica Rebecca, Mrs. Atillia Trotti and Mrs. Florence Funari; two granddaughters, a great-grandson and a great-great-grandson.
The funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Avenue. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Joachim's Church and interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
