MCCOOLE - Carl Lee Robinette Jr., 85, of 22001 Westernport Road, McCoole, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at the Sacred Heart-Braddock Campus of the Western Maryland Health System, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 30, 1920, at Luke, he was a son of the late Carl Lee Robinette Sr. and Corinne (Parsons) Robinette. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Robinette, a great-granddaughter, Jackie Lynn Llewellyn, and a brother, Bruce Robinette.
Mr. Robinette was retired from the Westvaco Luke Mill as an electrician with 41 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, was a former member of the Keyser Assembly of God Church and was currently attending the First Assembly of God Church in Westernport. He was also a member of Kelly-Mansfield Post 52, American Legion, Piedmont, W.Va.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lavetta P. "Betty" (Moomau) Robinette; two sons, Ronald L. Robinette and wife, Rusty, Fostoria, Ohio, and Robert R. Robinette and wife, Darlene, Hyndman, Pa.; two daughters, Jean Llewellyn and husband, Jim, Rawlings, and Paula Kay Kelley, Keyser, W.Va.; one brother, Charles "Buck" Robinette and wife, Betty, New Creek, W.Va.; and a sister, Margaret A. Rotruck, Keyser. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, Betty, Jerry and Kimberly Robinette, James Llewellyn Jr., Patty Bray, Rhonda Raines, Kevin Robinette, Angel Burrier, Rodney Robinette, Tammy Grabenstein, Terry Decker, April Redman, Carl and Gordon Bradfield and Shelley Coburn; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
