Mary Ann Deming-Crocker b. 1827 the daughter of a saw-mill owner in Mishawaka, Marshall County, Indiana. She died November 4th, 1889.In 1852 she ventured westward to California with her new husband, Charles Crocker, and together they opened a general store in Sacramento. Later, her husband became one of the "Big Four" involved in the creation of the Pacific Railroad. Upon her death her four surviving children, Harriet, William, George, and Frederic
