Virginia Hovey

Virginia Hovey, age 83, of Decorah, formerly of Ridgeway, Iowa, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis., following a short illness.

Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Orleans Lutheran Church, rural Ridgeway, with Rev. Phillip and Rev. Ginny Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Orleans Cemetery, rural Ridgeway.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial may be given to the Virginia Hovey Memorial Fund.

Friends may call from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the church.

Virginia's survivors include her husband: Norbert Hovey, Ridgeway, IA. Three daughters: Sharon (Greg Thiele) Hovey, Decorah, IA; Judy (Frank) Hageman, Decorah, IA; Kathy (Claude) Hovey - Moore, Chatfield, MN. Two sons: Roger (Karen) Hovey, Mason City, IA and Gary (Susan) Hovey, Ridgeway, IA.

Funeral services for Virginia M. Hovey of Decorah, formerly of Ridgeway, IA were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Orleans Lutheran Church in rural Ridgeway, IA with Pastor Phillip Olson and Pastor Ginny Olson officiating. Organist was Martha Jensen. Pastor Olson sang a solo, "Abide With Me". Hymns sung were: "How Great Thou Art", "What a Friend", and "Rock of Ages". The pallbearers were: Matt Zweibohmer, Mitchell Zweibohmer, Mick Zweibohmer, Mitchell Donlon, Pete Wennes, Will Hageman and Wesley Hageman. Interment was in Orleans Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ridgeway.
