Rilla E. Houdesheldt
Mrs. Rilla E. Houdesheldt, 74, a longtime resident of Cincinnati who had owned and operated an antique and variety store on the Cincinnati square, died in Ottumwa Tuesday, March 23, 1976.
She had been in poor health six weeks.
Born September 5, 1901, in Kirksville, Mo., she was the daughter of Mose and Sevilla McGee Conger. On September 4,1920, she was married to Glen E. Houdesheldt, and he preceded her in death March 28, 1947.
Mrs. Houdesheldt was a member of the West Pleasant Street Christian Church in Cincinnati.
Her parents, a daughter, Lucille Conopeotis, and a sister Mary preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Jorene) Lowe of Ottumwa, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Wealtha Moberly, North Kansas City, Mo.; and Mrs. Mildred Martin, Hammond, Ind.; and one brother, Ray Conger, Ottumwa.
Services will be Friday, 1:30 p.m., at Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home in Centerville. The Rev. James McMorrow will officiate, and burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
