Bryce Keith Updegraff Sr., age 65, of Riverdale, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at his home. Bryce was born in Alma on Dec. 16, 1945, the son of Raymond Howard and Doris (Richardson) Updegraff. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1965. Bryce married Vivian Francis on July 26, 1975, in Deford. Bryce resided most of his life in St. Louis. He retired from Lowell Light & Power in 2008, and was a member of IBEW. He had also worked for the City of St. Louis Electric Dept. for 17 years, and was a licensed builder. Bryce enjoyed hunting, shooting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alma. He is survived by his wife Vivian Updegraff of Riverdale; two sons, Ray Updegraff of St. Louis, Bryce and Jessica Updegraff of Shepherd; daughter Dana Jefferson of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Updegraff family at Chemical Bank. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel, St. Louis, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Alma, on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. Pastor John Eich will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 1 to 8 p.m. with family present from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
