Jack Brickhouse used to love the Alou brothers. Jack and Harry Carey are probably raising their glasses, and giving a toast to all the old great ballplayers of that era. Matty AlouScrappy ballplayer. You will be remembered. -

You and your brother Felipe finished1st & 2nd in the National League bating race-1967. That's the only time in major league history that a brother duoachieved that feat. I remember seeing you at Wrigley Field, talking with Billy Williams and Don Kessinger, and on the way back to the dugout, stopped and gave me a ball, and autograph. You were a very steady hitter, and an underrated fielder. Thanks for the memories. R.I.P -

Para Mateo: The inspiration to us little guys with big bats who changed his batting style to become a .300+ hitter spraying the ball all over the field. You and your hermanos were inspirations as players and people. RIP, Matty -

Happy Birthday, Mr. Alou. You were, are, and will always represent everything which is right with the national pastime. Thank you to you and your brothers for providing so many countless memories, both on and off the field. It would have been an honor to meet and work with you. May God continue to bless and watch over you and those you love then, now, and always. RIP -

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you." ¯ A.A. Milne -
