She had a sister, Alice Barbara 18 Sep 1923 - 2 Mar 2014 (Anson Samuel "Andy" Haaland). Grace was baptized at the Bethania Lutheran Church, Perley on 26 Jun 1928. Her sponsors were: Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Ness and Olaf and Ella Rosten. Grace grew up on the family farm until moving to Moorhead, MN in 1942. She graduated from Moorhead High School, Moorhead, MN.
She married Harvey Stowers in September 1946 in Moorhead.
They were the parents of three sons: Gerry Lynn Stowers (b. 1947), Thomas Lee Stowers (b. 1949) and Johnny Ray Stowers (b. 1952). They lived in Moorhead, Fargo and Hope, ND. In 1956 they moved to Sioux City, Iowa.
In 1966 Grace returned to Moorhead, MN. She married Bertil "Johnny" Carlson in 1970 at Dilworth, MN. Johnny died in 1982. They were the parents of a daughter Tamara Carlson.
Grace enjoyed cooking, knitting and canning. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Grace passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at her home in Fargo, ND. Funeral services were Oct. 13, 2006 at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND.
