She had a son John Miller (she used the American spelling for his last name), who was born November 25, 1856 in Zweisimmen, Canton Bern, Switzerland.
Magdalena married Friedrich Andrist on October 19, 1860 in Boltigen, Switzerland. In 1868 they came to America with four sons, John, Fredrich Jr., Samuel and Emmanuel. Two more sons were born in Minnesota, Godfrey and Jacob.
Magdalena was a farm wife and often was in charge of the family while Frederick worked as a musician in a band. She died March 10, 1888 in Dodge County, Minnesota and is buried at the Berne Cemetery, Berne, Minnesota.
