Carolyn ''Dee'' Denise Knapp, 45, Sarasota, died May 12, 1997.

She was born May 14, 1951, in Petersburg, W.Va., and came to Sarasota 11 years ago from Charleston, W.Va. She was an employment assistant with Sarasota Memorial Hospital for eight years. She was a member of Sarasota Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Glen; a daughter, Amy Kotula of Birmingham, Ala.; a son, Matt of Kennesaw, Ga., and J.B. of Sarasota; and a sister, Vicki Michael of Richmond, Va.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, with the service following, at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in West Virginia.

Memorial donations may be made to Sarasota Baptist Church, 7091 Proctor Road, Sarasota, FL 34241.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Denise Knapp, 45, of Sarasota, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., died May 12, 1997, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was an employment specialist for Sarasota Memorial Hospital and a former employee of the state Department of Agriculture.

Surviving: husband, Glenn A.; sons, John Brian and Glen Matthew, both of Sarasota; daughter, Amy Kotula of Birmingham, Ala.; parents, Raymond and JoAnne Eye of Sun City Center; sister, Vickie Michael of Richmond, Va.

Service will be noon Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Daniel Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
