Myrtle E. (McAfee) Anderson, 89, of Pottstown, wife of the late Vaughn R. Anderson, passed away on Tuesday at Parkhouse Providence Pointe nursing home. Born in East Nantmeal, Chester Co., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Eyrich) McAfee. Myrtle was a former member of Trinity Reformed Church in Pottstown, the women's auxiliary for the Frontier Archery Club and the Christian Women's Association of Pottstown. She worked for ICI Americas, Inc. in Valley Forge as an electronic assembler for 18 years and the former Philco in Spring City for six years. Surviving is her daughter, Gale L. Coughlin, wife of James, of Kitty Hawk, NC; son, Gary W. Anderson, husband of Elyne, of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Mertz, Nadine Pence, Jennifer Cales, Matthew Anderson and Debbie Eaton, and 10 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Martha, Mary, Hazel, and Alice, and her brothers, Clair, Mike and Ed. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Terry Highland officiating. Burial will follow in Mt . Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Myrtle's name to Hospice VNA Pottstown & Vicinity, 1963 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
