Denison was a Sergeant in the 152nd New York Infantry during the Civil War. Denison was wounded several times and was disabled in the Battle of the Wilderness on May 5, 1864
Denison Tisdale Huntley was the beloved husband of Emily V. Foskett Huntley, they were married April 16, 1855.
They had eight children, only four lived. Charles (1856) ~ Horace Milo Huntley born December 7, 1863 in Ilion, New York ~ Irvin (1866) ~ and Grover (1869).
In 1869 Dennison moved his family to Kansas. The cold winters and dry summers discouraged the family, so Dennison and his son Horace ran the "Oklahoma Land Run" and staked a claim in Logan County, Oklahoma.
Dennison Father was ~ Lyman L. Huntley ~ born: February 3, 1809 at W Exeter, NY and died: August 2, 1901 at S Columbia, NY.
Dennison Mother was ~ Elizabeth Tisdale ~ born: June 25, 1804 (place unknown) and died: March 1, 1879 at S Columbia, NY. Daughter of Dennison and Anna Tisdale.
