Mrs. Towater died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at her home.
She was born on April 4, 1920, in Henderson County, TN daughter of the late James Henry and Ruth Lee Tucker Bailey and was educated in the schools of Henderson and Madison Counties. Mrs. Towater moved to Madison county to make her home in 1941. She had lived in the Spring Creek Community for the past 65 years. She was a member of Sunset View Church of Christ.
Mrs. Towater was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Towater in 1969; a daughter, Nancy Ann Towater in 1949; a sister, Euda Bailey Towater; and two brothers, James Bailey and Reader Tucker.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Lee Towater of Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Pam Bailey of Ripley, MS, Mrs. Lessie Tucker of Sardis, TN and Mrs. Onie Towater of Huntingdon, TN; a brother-in-law, Robert Towater of Jackson, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
