Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Willie Samuel Carroll and Corine Baltzigar Carroll. He was a farmer and retired from Brubaker Farms. He served in the US National Guard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Georgia Gray Carroll of the home; daughters, Sherry (Ken) Kinard of Williston, Sindy (Randy) Martin of Aiken; son, Robert Stoney Carroll of Williston; sisters, Jo Ann C. (Frankie) Hair of Blackville, Daisy (Tommy) Prickett of Windsor, Linda (Hubert) Pickering of Williston, Shirley (Lester) Fail of Barnwell; brothers, Rev. Gene (Helen) Carroll of Barnwell, Kenneth (Ada) Carroll of Williston, J. S. Carroll of Williston, the apples of his eye were his six grandchildren Duey, Lily, Jacob, and Caleb Martin, Lance Kinard and Addison Carroll and a number of nieces and nephews.
