Country Musician. Martin was born on January 17, 1929, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Martin was a recording artist with the Decca Record Label. He played guitar for the likes of Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Chet Atkins, and Willie Nelson. Martin began his career shortly after arriving in Nashville, Tennessee, and releasing his, "Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy" in the 1940s. He later became known as a recording artist, appearing on many other artists' albums, right up into the 1990s. During the 1970s he joined Willie Nelson's road band and released the song, "Snap Your Fingers." He continued to play in Willie Nelson's band until ill health forced him to leave in 1994. Martin died on December 3, 2001, at the age of 72 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Martin's albums include, "Dance O-Rama #6" (1955), "Powerhouse Dance Party" (1956), "Juke Box Jamboree" (1956), "The Roaring Twenties" (1957), and "Hot Time Tonight" (1959).
