BONITA, LA. Funeral services for Mr. William Tarrant "Bill" Doles will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Sis. Gayle Porter, Bro. Danny Babcock, Bro. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will follow at the Bonita Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, November 10th beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home.

William Tarrant Doles was born on February 12, 1928 in Bonita, Louisiana to the late Ellis A. Doles and Ina Honeycutt Doles. He passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 surrounded by his family at the Oak Woods Home for the Elderly in Mer Rouge. Mr. Doles was a longtime member of the Bonita United Methodist Church and a retired farmer and boll weevil checker in the Bonita area. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, Howard, and Adrian Doles; two sisters, Katherine "Kaki" McCready and Mary Ellis Doles.

Mr. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Kinnaird Doles; a son, Kirk Doles and his wife, Brenda of Bastrop; two daughters, Mary Doles and her husband, Joe Bob Wilson of Bastrop and Gail Doles Babcock and her husband, Danny of Eros, Louisiana;
a brother, John Doles and his wife, Thelma of Arcadia, Louisiana; a sister, Jane Pippens of Woodsworth, Louisiana; four sisters-in-laws, Sarah Cruce, Rachel Summerland, Fay Hunter, and Ann Austin; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, William Johnson, Corey Johnson, Jeffrey Babcock, Josh Doles, Brian Doles, and Tim Gray.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Babcock, Courtney Rainey, Tony Cooper, and Ed Chappell.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Premier Hospice especially Cindy Burlew, Peggy Skains, and Molly Berry. A special thanks also to the nurses and staff at the Oak Woods Home for the Elderly for their compassionate care.
