MRS. CAROLINE BRAGG PASSES AWAY
On last Friday eve, December 22 occured the death of Mrs. Caroline S. Bragg, age 70 years at the family home on north Center street. Her death was the result of a severe burn sustained several weeks ago, while burning leaves in her yard.
Funeral services were held for her at the home Sunday p. m. conducted by Rev. Hugh McLellan. Burial was in Shelbina Cemetery.
Mrs. Bragg is survived by four children, viz: , Miss Corinna and Walter O., who reside at home, Mrs. Maurine McClelland, of Dwight, Ill's and Dr. Harry l. Bragg, of Columbia, Mo. Wade Hampton and Beulah preceded their mother in death, as did their father the late J. J. Bragg.
Caroline S. Bragg nee Hendren was born on August 18th 1852, at the Hendren home near Hannibal, Mo. United with Christian Church at Canton, Mo., when 16 years of age. She was married on October 24th 1872 at Mt. Zion Church in Marion County, to John J. Bragg of Shelby County.
This model mother and home keeper had lived in Shelbina forty years, her quiet christian character had a wholesome influence upon those whose lives touched hers.
