Thomas A. price of Shady Grove is Claimed by Death
Thomas Allen Price aged 77,died Sunday at 1:30am at the home of his daughter Mrs Lessie B. Phillips,in the Shady Grove community following an illness of several years. Funeral services were held at 3:30pm. Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Methodist Church in Jasper County,with Rev.J.M.Hayes of Ellisville officiating,the Rev D.T.Ridgeway,Laurel and the Rev J.A.Cook,Decatur,assisting.
Pallbearers were the following grandchildren of the deceased:
Wesley Price,Esmond Buckley,Osburn Buckley,Claude Upton,Cecil Upton,and Burl Welch.
Mr. Price was well-known in the Shady Grove community and his passing is considered by his friends to be a distinct loss. He is survived by his wife Mrs Ida Jane-Ruffin Price,Laurel Ms Route 2, and the following children: Preston Price,Moss. Mrs Audrey Buckley,Bay Springs,Route 2;Mrs Lessie B. Phillips,Route 2;John Price,Ellisville,Route 3,Thurman Price,Ellisville Route 3;Mrs Ruby Poore,Laurel,Route 2,Woodrow Price,Mobile Ala;and Mrs Lela Graham,Moss. One brother Johnnie Price,Pelican La,.and a number of grandchildren,also survive.
Sumrall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
