Son of Augustus "Frank" Franklyn Crail and "Sallie" Sarah Lorne Crail.
'Retired Gallatin Valley rancher and lumberman, Emmett Crail, died Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital in Billings. He was born August 26, 1888, at Springhill, a son of Mrs. and Mrs. Augustus Frank Crail. He moved from Springhill, at age 14, to the West Fork area near Lone Mountain in Gallatin Canyon. He later homesteaded there, establishing Lone Mountain Ranch, where his original cabin still stands. He operated a cattle ranch and built a lumber mill near the ranch. He later built the B-K ranch on West Fork, now known as Big Sky Guest Ranch. He married Annie Breneman in June, 1949. After retiring, Crail lived near Bozeman Hot Springs. He later moved to Salem, Oregon, returning to Montana in 1974. He had been living with a niece, Mrs. Arthur (Glen) Einfeldt, in Billings at the time of his death. He wife preceded him in death in 1958. Other survivors include a brother, Eugene; a sister, Mrs. Lillian DeWaide, and a nephew, Frank Crail, all of Salem, Oregon. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. ~Printed in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle
