George Albert McCachren, of Port Royal, died at his home, December 23, 1946, aged 86 years 3 months and 22 days.

Born August 31, 1860, he was the son of the late John and Esther Arnold McCachren of Mifflin.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Agnes Stoner McCachren, two sons: J.W. McCachren and George McCachren, both of Port Royal; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. McCachren was a retired railroad track section foreman having been in service for 49 years and 10 months, retiring in 1928. He was a member of the Port Royal Methodist Church and Mifflintown IOOF Lodge.

Funeral services will be held from the Stimmel Funeral Home, Port Royal, December 26, 1946, at 2 p.m. in charge of his pastor, Rev. Robert E. Fleck. Interment willl be made in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
