Glens Fall Times, 4 January 1950, Private funeral services for Colin R. Couzens 37 of North Argyle who was killed n an airplane crash in the Pocono Mts. Dec. 22 will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday at the Kilmer Funeral Home in Argyle. The Rev. Paul Reynolds pastor of the North Argyle Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in North Argyle cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
Mr. Couzens and a companion James J. Rodgers of Schenectady were in route from Florida on a surprise Christmas visit to their homes when the plane crashed. The wreckage and their bodies were found Monday.
Mr. Couzens was born in Wainwright Alberta Canada, the son of Philip H. and Mae Couzens. His father died when he was three years of age and he was brought up by an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Couzens. He attended the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. For several ears he was employed in the engineering office of the International Nickel Company in Canada.
During the war, he flew for the Air Service School of the Canadian Air Fore in Chatham, New Brunswick. Following the war he was a pilot for thr British West Indian Airways at Port of Spain, Triniad. For the past thee years he has been employed by the National Lead Company at Tahawas and four months ago went to Georgia and Florida where he was working for the same company. Mrs. Couzens had planned to join him in Florida this winter.
