"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
-Revelation 21:4

Otis W. McCree, Jr., was the last of three children born to the late Otis W. McCree, M.D. and Lena Singleton McCree. He grew up and was educated in the Atlanta Public School System, graduating in 1973 from Frederick Douglass High School. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Jan Alexander and one son was born to that union. Throughout his life he encountered many obstacles in that required him to choose between two paths, not always selecting the correct path. Through it all, he never lost his faith. His presence in our lives framed unforgettable memories full of hope, happiness, and laughter,...through good times as well as in bad. He was employed in various occupations, including as a painter. He later in his life professed Christ and united with the Laster Chapel United Methodist Church of College Park, Georgia. Otis departed this life into the embrace of God after a extended period of illness from lung cancer. He is survived by his son, one grandson, two sisters; numerous other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed by all whose presence he graced. We commend him to the serenity, peace and the blessing of eternal life.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Weep not for me though I am gone
Into the gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my souls sweet flight.

There is no need for tears.
I am at peace, my soul is at rest
There is no pain, I suffer not,
For with your love I was blessed.

I am in a place of comfort
The fear now is gone

Put those things out of your thoughts
In your memory I live on.

Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not strife
Please do not dwell upon my death
But celebrate my life.
