Henry Duke was manumitted by a same-name slave master (son?) in KY to join the Civil War on the Northern side. (Odd if it isn't his son.) He is described often as Mulatto and and died in Louisville KY, where he had moved from Hartford KY after the War.

Henry and later his wife received a U.S. Civil War pension.
He is an ancestor of my husband, Richard Tillson.
