Funeral service will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Rehoboth Church for Mrs. Joseph Y. Short, 56, who died at her home in the Rehoboth Church community, Summer Township, after being confined to her home for eight months and being in ill health for four years. Rev. T. F. Higgins pastor, and Rev. T. F. Snow, of Lowell, former pastor, will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Prior to her illness, Mrs. Short was an active member of the church at which the rites will be held. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Paul G. Jones, of Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Lewis W. Hodgin, of Greensboro, route 1; three sons, S. Otis Short, of Chapel Hill, Charles M. Short, of Greensboro and Joseph R. Short of the United States Air Corps at Shanute Field, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. S. R. Short, of Greensboro, route 1, and Mrs. Martha Edwards, of Surry County; three brothers, D. W. Culler, of Surry County, F. D. Culler, of High Point, and J. E. Culler, of Morganton, and two grandchildren.
