Gene Dixon, 67, of Grover, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1943 in Cleveland County, to the late Earnest and Beatrice Jackson Dixon.
Gene was a member of Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He loved his family and his church family dearly and enjoyed giving candy to the children in the church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earnest James Dixon Jr.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Eugene Dixon and wife, Amy, Kenneth Dale Dixon and wife, Jackie, Marty Wayne Bolin and wife, Darlene; sisters, Mildred Louise Gregory, Evelene Dover and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, with the funeral service beginning at 7:30 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Barry Philbeck.
A committal service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
