OUT OF THE PAST
The daughter of Annie Tannehill was in our town Saturday. With her husband, Mr. Pryor by name, this daughter sought names and data of relatives buried in DuBois- Pyle and Utter by name. Annie Tannehil grew to young womanhood in the vicinity of DuBois. She married Nelson Pyle and left here years ago. There are yet a few of us oldsters who have memories of Annie Tannehill. Her daughter and husband live in Idaho. He is a patrolman, and was enroute to Indiana on a business errand and so stopped here. Because of the nature of their mission they did not bring Annie with them.

Annie Tannehill was the daughter of Nate Tannehill, who was a photographer of no mean ability, in 1901. He built the house where Andy Nemecs lived so long, and which now is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chauza. Seth Tannehill was a brother of Nate and was the first telegraph operator for the Rock Island in 1886. He built the house on the Charley Bohm farm. Seth and Milo were brothers of Annie. No Tannehill are buried at DuBois, but Cincinnati cemetery records show that A. W. Tannehill, 92, was buried in 1892 in a now unmarked grave.
