Doris Blackwelder in Serious Condition.
Reports from a local hospital late today indicate that Miss Doris Blackwelder, daughter of Mr. J. A. Blackwelder, of Lanett, is in a very critical condition following an operation for appendicitis several days ago.
Immediately following the operation it was thought that she was fast on the road to recovery, but complications set in which have reduced her vitality to almost nothing. Her chances of recovery, according to these reports, are very slim and those close to her bedside indicate that it will be only a matter of hours.
Later - Further reports from the local hospital just before going to press are to the effect that Miss Doris Blackwelder died about 11:30 o'clock today. The funeral service will be held from the County Line Baptist Church with interment in the Dudleyville Cemetery.
