JOHN D. ALEXANDER DIES AT AGE 78
Well Known Farmer-Stockman Observed Birthday Saturday---Funeral Tomorrow
John D. Alexander, prominent Randolph county farmer and stockman died at his home 12 miles northeast of Moberly at 10:45 o'clock yesterday morning, the day after his seventy-eighth birthday. He had been in failing health the past year and a half.
Mr. Alexander is survived by two daughters, the Misses Maude and Bertha, of the home, and three nephews.
The son of Francis and Jane (Stephens) Alexander, Mr. Alexander was born on a farm two miles north of the farm on which he died. His parents were Kentuckians who came to Missouri in 1835, settling first in Monroe County and moving to Randolph in 1837.
For the past 50 years, with the exception of about nine months, Mr. Alexander lived on the same farm. The family lived in Moberly for about the nine months several years ago during Mrs. Alexander's last illness.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist Church at Ash by the Rev. R. A. Jones of New London. Burial will be in the Ash Cemetery.
