Florence P. Danielson Birky, 96, of Lafayette, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Bickford Cottage.
Born June 8, 1915, in Valparaiso, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Ailes Danielson. She was educated in the Boone Grove Schools in Porter County.
She married Warren W. Birky on Dec. 9, 1936, in Valparaiso, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1994.
Mrs. Birky worked in the kitchen for the Kouts School and was a homemaker. She was a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church.
Surviving is a son, Larry W. Birky (wife: Myrna) of West Lafayette, and a daughter, LaVonne Bennett (husband: Rev. Bruce) of Benton, Wis.
Also surviving is a son-in-law, Jim Barnhart of Glendale, Ariz., seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger P. Birky; a daughter, Judy Barnhart; and two brothers..
Memorial visitation one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service Friday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating.
