Norman Beer 1919 - 2009 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Norman Phillips Beer, 90 of 38741 County Road, 54 East, Zephyrhills, Fla., died Tuesday Sept. 1, 2009, at Gulfside Regional Hospice in Dade City, Fla. He was born in North Adams, on April 29, 1919, son of Harry and Estelle Phillips Beer. He attended North Adams schools. During the Great Depression, Norman worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Later, he was a self-employed carpenter, contractor, and mason who worked for many area contractors. He enjoyed playing the guitar. He leaves his wife, the former Regina Tatro, whom he married on March 14, 1942; three sons, David N. Beer, of Schenectady, N.Y., Thomas Beer of Adams, and Ralph Beer of Amherst; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Bosley and Marion Beer of North Adams; and Nancy Tower of Adams; one brother, Robert Beer of Drury, nieces and nephews. A son, William Beer died in 1966, and a brother Ralph Beer and a sister, Virginia Thompson are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Service for Norman Beer will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday Sept. 29th from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
