Clyde Huitt
— Mr. Clyde Huitt, 81, of Ringgold, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Christine Quarles Huitt; parents, Willie and Dora Huitt; and brothers, Joseph and Laverne Huitt.
Mr. Huitt was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Angel and Kenny Douglas of Yellville, Ark., and Carmen and Clay Payne of Cohutta; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Joy Huitt and David and Shena Huitt, all of Ringgold; sister, Kitty Hawkins of Michigan; brothers, James Huitt of Rock Spring, Uhlan Huitt of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ralph Huitt of Costa Rica; grandchildren, Chris Humble, Leslie Plott, Jessica Lovely, Jeremy Douglas, Jason Miles, Jessica Grant, Michael, Myranda, Sydney, and Zachery Payne, Levi Howard, Timothy Horn, Ashley Sain, Alison, Jonathan, Karsen and Jacob Huitt; 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral to honor the life of Mr. Huitt is Friday at 10 a.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Addis and the Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating.
Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors rendered by American Legion Post No. 112.
Pallbearers will be Chris Humble, Timothy Horn, Jason Miles, Chris Sain, Chad Grant and Glenn Walls.
The family will receive friends at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home today from 5 until 9 p.m.
